Excursions to some of the many picturesque medieval villages, such as Sarlat, Rocamadour, Pujols, Penne d 'Angais, castles and churches (see also the "Area" page)
The village of Cadouin with its weekly market ("Marché Nocturne", at 5 kms).
Walking: The region offers a wide range of walks, including a beautiful part of the Santiago de Compostella trail, which runs close to "Rastaillou".
Cycling is possible, but be prepared to spend some energy ! The Dordogne is hilly and anything but flat ! (We have 6 bicycles available for our guests, 2 men's, 2 women's and 2 children's).
Canoeing or kayaking on the Dordogne river.
Play a round of golf on one of the 9 golfcourses in the region.
Visit some of the famous wine houses; Bergérac and Cahors wines are excellent wines from the region. A bit further west lies the Bordeaux region with its famous wines and chateaux.
The region is famous for its "foie-gras". For lovers of this delicacy a visit to the related museum is a must !
Bordeaux is a great city and well worth visiting.
You will find about 1 1/2 hours drive.
The Atlantic Ocean can be reached in about 2 1/2 hours, the Pyrenees in 3 hours.
At "Rastaillou" you can relax, enjoy swimming or sunbathing and of course you can test your skill in the national French sport: Pétanque !
